White Water Rafting in Northern California
There is rafting near Eden Vale Inn all summer long! The South Fork American River is the most popular whitewater rafting destination west of the Rockies. And this destination for river rafting in Northern California is just minutes from Eden Vale Inn. On the South Fork, we have guaranteed boating flows every day of the week except Tuesdays and Wednesdays through October 31st. Let us set you up for a white water rafting adventure at a 10-15% off discount when you stay with us.
The South Fork of the American River
Many reputable rafting companies have operated for years on the South Fork. Choose a half-day or a full-day trip of whitewater excitement on Class III rapids. Want it all? You can raft up to 17 miles of river! Or enjoy an easier, Class II section that is suitable for younger ages. It is a great way to soak in the beauty of floating down the beautiful river, with a few fun rapids to give a thrill and cool you off. Water every day except Tuesday and Wednesday.
Middle and North Forks of the American River:
Like the South Fork, the Middle and North Forks originate in the high Sierra Nevada just west of Lake Tahoe. The three rivers flow through the true heart of the Sierra Foothills Gold Country and converge east of Sacramento. Today they end in Folsom Lake reservoir.
While the South Fork is the most friendly and welcoming of the three, Eden Vale Inn is also near the Middle Fork American River’s more adventurous run. The Middle Fork is a canyon of wilderness scenery interspersed with challenging Class IV rapids. In addition, the Western States Trail, which hosts multiple annual endurance events, including the world-famous Western States 100-Mile Run, lines the canyon. There will be water flows for weekend boating on the Middle Fork at least from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
The North Fork has Class V rapids and is only boatable during spring run-off. Its flows are not controlled by dams like the other two forks, so its summer flows are too low for boating. We are within easy reach of the North Fork’s adventurous springtime run. However, the North Fork is best left to the experts as it is wild and difficult.
