If you are planning to visit Northern California this fall, you definitely won’t want to miss the Placerville Oktoberfest! A popular tradition for locals and visitors alike, this festive event includes great beer and wine, crazy contests, prizes, German food, live music, and so much more. The best part? Admission is free! So, bring your friends or significant other to celebrate with us this October!
About the Placerville Oktoberfest
Held annually since 2011, the Placerville Oktoberfest offers something for everyone. Highlights of the event include excellent craft beer, El Dorado County wines, live Bavarian music, Polka dancing, German cuisine, and more. Sip an ice-cold beer, browse through the unique local vendors, or show off your moves on the dance floor. Visitors can also enter to compete in a variety of beer contests to include chugging, holding steins, or even yodeling! Whether you prefer to participate or stand and watch from the crowd, it’s always a fun time.
While the beer contests are hilarious, you don’t have to be over 21 to enjoy this Placerville beer festival. There’s fun for all ages! Feel free to check out the family-friendly area with tons of games and activities for the kids to enjoy. And, the Wiener dog races always draw a large crowd. There’s nothing cuter than watching a pack of dachshunds compete in an exhilarating race toward the finish line. Supported by local volunteers at Animal Outreach, the proceeds from the race go toward their mission in El Dorado County and surrounding areas.
