After a moderate hike, you’re rewarded with beautiful views at the South Fork of the American River. Feel free to pack a lunch and enjoy a romantic picnic by the water! Alternatively, you can try West Ridge Trail for some unbeatable views of the river canyon. Keep an eye out for some fascinating bird species while you’re here!

Dave Moore Nature Area

For even more scenic hikes, head over to the Dave Moore Nature Area. It’s only 10 minutes away from our bed and breakfast and features a one-mile loop trail to the river and back. The pathway is well-defined and leads you along various rock formations and shady trees. It’s open year-round, dog-friendly, and perfect for leisurely strolls on cool afternoons. A portion of the trail is also wheelchair accessible.
